Alison Edmond is one of the most highly regarded fashion stylists in the industry.   She was the Creative & Fashion Director of Harper's Bazaar UK from 1997 to 2010, and was key in transforming the title in to the revered fashion magazine it is today alongside editor Lucy Yeomans. She has now moved from London to live in Los Angeles, and is working freelance between there and New York - styling, art directing and consulting, mainly editorially and also for advertising and design houses. She acts as Fashion Editor at Large for Marie Claire US styling both their covers and main fashion stories.  In addition, she is Ambassador for British Fashion in Los Angeles for The British Fashion Council, and a Trustee to the Bazaar Arts / Fashion Fund, and is a regular contributor to Elle UK, and Net a Porter's The Edit.

 

Edmond grew up in the North East of England and began her career in magazines in September 1986, hired by Anna Wintour as Art Coordinator of British Vogue assisting Art Director John Hind. She moved in to the fashion department two years later under the editorship of Elizabeth Tilberis, and rapidly went from assisting to being a Fashion Editor in her own right, spending six years there in total.

 

When Liz Tilberis moved to edit US Harper's Bazaar in 1992, Edmond followed her to the States where Tilberis made her West Coast Editor of the magazine, based in Los Angeles. She worked there for five years, mainly styling celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Robin Wright Penn, Renee Zellweger, Val Kilmer and Liv Tyler.

 

Upon her return to London in 1997, she was appointed Fashion Director of Harper's & Queen. When editor Lucy Yeomans joined the magazine in 2000, Edmond was promoted to Creative & Fashion Director, and the magazine returned to it's former title of Harper's Bazaar in 2006.  She styled and art directed almost one hundred covers for the magazine in her tenure, worked with the top photographers in the industry, and produced numerous unique collaborations with many great artists and directors.  Her strong, epic, and elegant style became synonymous with the visual of the magazine.

 

Edmond is also one of the best known celebrity stylists in the industry, having done personal styling for Gwyneth Paltrow and Thandie Newton amongst others, and having art directed and styled many memorable shoots with stars including Angelina Jolie, Beyonce, Gwen Stefani, Cate Blanchett, Natalie Portman, Jennifer Aniston, Scarlett Johansson, Blake Lively, Reese Witherspoon, Eva Mendes, Sarah Jessica Parker, Sienna Miller, Rachel Weisz, Salma Hayek, Liv Tyler, Michelle Williams, Renee Zellweger, Sarah Jessica Parker, January Jones, Miley Cyrus, Emily Blunt, Naomi Watts, Kate Bosworth, Jennifer Connelly, Keira Knightley, and Katherine Heigl. 

 

From 2006-2010 Edmond worked as Creative Consultant to Sony Music / Syco in London, overseeing image and visual marketing for their artists. 

 

Edmond is married to John Pearson, and they have three children.
